Back up your iPhone photos without iCloud
iCloud+ bills every month: $2.99 for 200GB and $9.99 for 2TB in the US. If you only need your photos copied somewhere safe, a device you already own can hold them.
How to do it
- Open SpareDisk on both devices. On the first one, choose Show QR.
- Scan the QR code with the second device, which shows a short reply code.
- Type that reply code into the first device to finish pairing.
- On the iPhone, choose the photos and videos to send.
- Open a few files on the receiving device before you delete anything from the phone.
This is a manual copy, not automatic backup
iOS doesn't let web pages run in the background, so SpareDisk moves files when you open it. It copies photos and files, not app data or settings, so it doesn't replace a full iPhone backup.
Keep two copies of anything irreplaceable
A copy on one old phone is still one copy. Send important files to a second place too, such as a computer.
Try it with the two devices you have
Open SpareDisk on both, scan the QR code, type the reply code, and send. Free to start, no account.

Does this replace iCloud Backup?
No. It copies the photos and files you pick. It doesn't back up app data, settings or messages.
How long does a transfer take?
It depends on your Wi-Fi and how much you send. Keep both screens awake until it finishes.
